Diagnosing IBD: These Methods Are Used

Diagnosing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is often not straightforward, as symptoms like diarrhea, abdominal pain, or cramps can also indicate other conditions and may occur in both ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. In order to detect IBD as early as possible, a combination of various examinations and tests is typically carried out. These include blood tests, stool analyses, gastroscopies and colonoscopies, as well as ultrasound examinations.
