Here you will find all the important information about our app and how to take part in our free study, which has been running since spring 2025.

Hi, I'm Hanna, co-founder of coreway. As a sufferer of inflammatory bowel disease, I know how challenging it can be to stay in control of the disease. Our 2024 pilot study has already shown that relapses can be detected early by analyzing vital parameters and health factors. Also Hirten et al. has investigated the early detection of chronic inflammatory bowel disease using vital parameters and confirmed its feasibility. Our app has also been certified as a risk class I medical device since spring 2025. The current three-month study serves to certify the app as a medical device in risk class IIa, with the aim of being able to display the risk of relapses in the app in the future.

Participation requirements

Diagnosis of a chronic inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.
Minimum age: 18 years.
Regardless of whether you are currently experiencing a relapse, a chronic relapse or are in remission - all disease states are welcome and valuable for the study.
You can also specify other illnesses when registering. They are not an exclusion criterion.
The motivation to support CED research through daily commitment.
Participation in the study is 100 % free of charge and without obligation.

Our goal is to use daily tracking and your valuable participation to gain scientifically robust insights that will help to improve the quality of life of people with IBD in the long term.

Step-by-step instructions

1. „coreway“ App downloaden

You can download the CED app, which we use specifically for data collection and scientific evaluation, via the App Store or Google Play Store herunterladen. Um Deine Entwicklung zu überprüfen, füllst Du den Fragebogen zur Lebensqualität einmal vor und nach der Studie aus. Die Studie läuft insgesamt über einen Zeitraum von drei Monaten und kann jederzeit gestartet werden.

2. Registrieren

In der App registrierst Du Dich, gibst Deine Angaben ein und stimmst der Erhebung und Verarbeitung Deiner gesundheitsbezogenen Daten gemäß Datenschutzrichtlinien und der Teilnahme an der Studie zu. Die detaillierte Gebrauchsanweisung findest du here.

3. Täglich „Check-in“ ausfüllen

Jeden Tag nimmst Du Dir 1 Minute Zeit, um unseren „Check-in“ in der App auszufüllen. Falls Du es einmal vergisst, kannst Du die Einträge bis zu 3 Tage rückwirkend nachtragen. Denke daran, auch am Wochenende mitzumachen – das sorgt für eine lückenlose und präzisere Auswertung! Aktiviere die Benachrichtigungsfunktion, damit wir dich an deine Eintragung erinnern können.

Optional: Wearable verlinken

Wenn du ein Wearable zur Verfügung hast, kannst du dieses sehr gerne mit unserer App verknüpfen. Die Daten liefern uns wertvolle Parameter für unsere Studie.

Studienabschluss & Weiternutzung

Am Ende der 3-monatigen Studie erhältst du von uns eine E-Mail mit dem Fragebogen zur Lebensqualität. Diesen füllst du erneut aus. Du kannst die App natürlich auch nach dem Abschluss der Studie weiter verwenden. Entdecke hierfür all die Funktionen unserer CED App.
